A further paint system or replacement liner may suit a sound pool where the owner wants to retain that finish. Fibreglass conversion is a more advanced scope, which significantly improves longevity and appeal: it removes the unsuitable coating or flexible liner, exposes and prepares the underlying structure, and integrates suitable repairs into one continuous lining.

Paint may chalk, fade, blister or peel. Conversion removes loose or unsuitable coating so cracks, pitting and defects in the exposed substrate can be treated before lining.
A flexible liner fitted over concrete, panel, metal or mixed construction.
The liner conceals much of the supporting pool. Conversion removes it so corrosion, cracks, damaged areas, fittings and transitions can be assessed, repaired or adapted before a continuous lining is installed.
Not sure whether your interior is paint, fibreglass or a liner? Send clear overall and close-up photographs. They will usually help us identify the visible finish and failure pattern, but they cannot confirm the concealed substrate. Do not empty the pool or remove the liner simply to investigate.

Paint partly conceals the substrate; a vinyl liner conceals most of it. Controlled removal establishes whether the supporting pool is sound and what repairs or adaptations are required.

Check for corrosion, cracks, voids, damaged panels, moisture and movement.
Treat the substrate, fittings, penetrations and transitions according to their condition.
The prepared substrate and required repairs are integrated into a continuous reinforced fibreglass lining and selected AquaGuard finish—the visible outcome of the ENDURATEC System. Plumbing, drainage, groundwater, active movement or other conditions outside the lining may require separate work.
Failed liners and coatings can share symptoms such as fading, roughness, cracking or water loss, but the cause and treatment can be very different.
Conversion removes liner tears, seams, wrinkles or unsuitable coating from the finished interior, but it does not automatically resolve plumbing, fitting, groundwater, corrosion, movement or external structural causes. These require their own assessment and scope.

This painted concrete pool had a worn, patchy coating, which was mechanically prepared and levelled with resin filler. Two layers of fibreglass laminate was then applied and finished in Sapphire Blue Speckle.
The deteriorated liner was removed, tiled and uneven areas were prepared and repaired, and the exposed interior was levelled before the continuous reinforced lining and Dove Grey Speckle AquaGuard finish were installed.
Share whether the pool is painted or vinyl-lined, its visible condition and any previous repainting, liner replacement or repairs. Clear overall and close-up photographs usually help us identify the finish and visible failure before the first conversation.
The final conversion scope is confirmed only after planned removal and inspection of the exposed substrate.
